The word gospel means "good news" and that is exactly what we have in Jesus Christ. We are all sinners deserving none of the blessings of God (Romans 3:9f, Ephesians 2:1-5), but because God loves us so much, He sent His Son to die in our place (John 3:16), conquering death for us by rising from the dead!

Receiving the free gift of eternal life could not be simpler. Christ has already done all of the work (Romans 5:1-5); all that is left is for us to believe in Him (John 6:47). The moment we do, we are given eternal life and that life cannot ever be lost (John 10:27-30, 11:25-27). That life is a ticket to heaven, but it is so much more than that. It is the very life of God (Galatians 2:20)! It is His Son Jesus Christ coming to live inside us by means of the Holy Spirit. By this life we are empowered to live a victorious life as we depend on Jesus to meet our daily needs.
